We’ll be discussing a different area of genealogy research each month. Our speaker, Jeffery Vaillant, Director of the Marin County Genealogy Society and genealogy junkie loves a challenge, so come with your questions!

Meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise noted) in the Library Meeting Room.

2018

January 9 – Immigration and naturalization records, fold3

February 13 – Federal and State census, draft registrations, city directories

March 13 – Genealogical and historical societies, state and local libraries

April 10 – County histories, reverse genealogy (locating living relatives)

May 8 – Genealogical research checklist

June 12 & July 10 – What is Your Genealogy Adventure?  Bring your stories of success and challenges to share with others.

Notice that the focus is on United States records, however, each topic has its international element.

August 14 – Summer Break – no class

At the San Rafael Libraries and all of the MARINet libraries, you have FREE in-library access to the most popular genealogy research tool – Ancestry.com

Inside any of the city and county libraries, just log in with your library card number and PIN/password.
