This group is new, so we’ll be selecting future readings for our next meetings. We’ll be reading shorter classics, contemporary short stories, poems, articles, essays, plays, excerpts and…?
Please join us and be a part of the planning process.

March 6 – Animal Farm by George Orwell – George Orwell’s classic satire of the Russian Revolution is the account of the bold struggle, initiated by the animals, that transforms Mr. Jones’s Manor Farm into Animal Farm, a wholly democratic society built on the credo that all animals are created equal. When totalitarian rule is re-established with the bloodstained postscript to the founding slogan: but some animals are more equal than others.

April 3 – The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli – The most famous book on politics ever written, The Prince remains as lively and shocking today as when it was written almost five hundred years ago. Initially denounced as a collection o fsinister maxims and a recommendation of tyranny, it has more recently been defended as the first scientific treatment of politics as it is practiced rather than as it ought to be practiced.
