Join us for the Celestial Event of the Century! Come to the front lawn of the San Rafael Public Library to experience the 2017 solar eclipse, in partnership with the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers. We will provide an informative interpretation, safety glasses and a good time for all. All ages are welcome; no registration required.

When will you be giving the eclipse glasses away?
We are giving out glasses after August 1st but have a very limited supply and it will not go far. Other libraries are participating, as well. To be sure you get a pair, I suggest purchasing the glasses online through Amazon for about a dollar or two.
Hi, some libraries are reserving glasses for the event participants, are you doing this as well, or will you be out of glasses on the day of?
The library has 250 pairs of glasses to give away the day of the event, starting at 9am. Limit two per family.
I have just checked amazon, and the cost is nowhere near $2. I recently saw a sign at the Downtown library saying you will have more glassea on the day of the event. Is that the case?
Thank you!
