Irrigation and the Home Gardener
In this presentation, Ron Filson will strive to make sense of the history of gardening, the evolution of irrigation, and the idea of seasonal supplemental watering and the devices we use to apply water in our gardens. The general theme is earth-friendly gardening. Our mission as Master Gardeners is to educate the general public about selecting plants and keeping them healthy without using excess water.
Ron’s approach to irrigation is novel and multifaceted. Stimulated by the drought and sidelined by the pandemic, he embraced his lifelong love of gardening, focusing on effective water usage. A graduate of the Marin Master Gardener program in 2022, he coordinates the joint Marin Water/Marin Master Gardener Garden Walk program.
