To commemorate this year’s Black History Month, come learn about the Black Labor Pioneers of Marin County and the Bay Area with Historian John William Templeton.

John William Templeton is a transformational speaker who provides competitive knowledge on technology, economics, entrepreneurship, education and history. He is the founder of National Black Business Month, a business journalist, historian and demographer.

Each session will feature live music, movement activities, and read-aloud stories for children of all ages. See you there!

Marin Master Gardeners: Growing Roses

Learn how to select, plant, and prune roses for your garden. There will be a demonstration on how to prune roses during the class.

Rod Kerr is a Master Gardener who has been growing and tending roses for more than 30 years. He has been teaching classes on growing roses to master gardeners and residents of Marin for many years. Rod was the Co-President of the UC Marin Master Gardeners from 2018 to 2020

Monarch butterflies, as much as we love them, are in danger of extinction here in California. Come and learn with Peter Norton about their life cycle/needs and practical steps that we can take in Marin County to help with their survival.

After 40+ years of office jobs in the finance industry, Peter Norton retired in 2013. Since then, he has become an avid gardener, with a particular interest in creating native plant habitats. He is one of the lead volunteers at the Marin Master Gardener demonstration gardens at the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael. Come see and be inspired to make your yard a friendly natural habitat for the creatures around us.
