Workshop: Ancestry.com This is a hands on workshop; each participant will be working on a laptop or tablet of their own as we walk through the basics of using Ancestry.com. The library has Chromebooks available for check-out if participants do not have their own devices.
Participants will:
Begin a family tree
Learn about the types of records on Ancestry.com
Conduct a search for their ancestors in records database at Ancestry
Save records & images

Ancestry.com Ancestry.com provides powerful tools to unlock your ancestor’s lives, learn how to search through billions of records from all over the world and build a family tree to store and organize your family history. We will cover both the library edition and the subscription version of Ancestry.com.
About the presenter: Sierra Pope is an accomplished genealogist who has researched ancestors all over the world – including Germany, the DAR Library in Washington DC, and many graveyards and courthouses along the way. Sierra is a former President of the Marin County Genealogical Society.

The Marin Humane Society’s SHARE a Book program is designed to help children improve their literacy skills, and to offer an opportunity for them to have fun reading – to dogs!
This program is intended for emerging readers in grades 1-3 who would love some fun, low-pressure reading time.
