Writing and the Senses Workshop with Susanne West

Posted by bonnie on

Writing and the Senses

We will work with writing prompts and exercises to engage your senses, which can enliven and enrich any type of writing, including journaling, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and more.

We become attuned to the present moment when we focus on sensory awareness. Writing from presence and including the senses brings new life to your writing and can greatly increase the richness of the writing process.

Susanne West is a writer and professor of psychology. She was on the faculty of John F. Kennedy University for 30 years and received the Harry L. Morrison Distinguished Teaching Award at JFKU. Susanne is the author of Soul Care for Caregivers. Her first poetry collection, Subterranean Light, will be released in 2020.

Beautiful Brain Blues with Leni Felton

Posted by bonnie on

Our brilliantly complex, creative and adaptive brains require conscious care throughout our lives. Join Clinical Nutritionist Leni Felton as she talks about lesser-known contributors to cognitive decline and cognitive health.

Topics will include:

  • the impact of autoimmunity
  • the gut/ brain/immune connection
  • the gut ecology’s influence upstream
  • our self-cleaning systems

Working as a clinical nutritionist to help people recover and “live health,” Leni has seen choice, practice, and action enable beautiful brains to blossom. Additionally, Leni facilitates clients’ programs via the Bredesen Protocol to prevent and reverse cognitive decline.
