Intermediate Chess Club for Adults & Teens

Love to play chess? Want to up your game? Join us every Tuesday night from 6 to 8 pm to practice and improve your game.

Feel free to drop in for a few minutes or stay the whole time. We’ll be upstairs near the Large Type area in the Carnegie wing. We’ll have chess sets to use but feel free to bring your own.

Players must have basic knowledge of chess moves and openings.

Storytime @ Terra Linda Community Center

Marin Master Gardeners: Secrets and Solutions to Rejuvenate your Pollinator Garden

Ever wonder what happens to pollinators in the fall and winter months? Do you want to learn about the cultural care requirements of plants in your pollinator garden?

Join UC Marin Master Gardener Anne-Marie Walker for “Secrets and Solutions to Rejuvenate your Pollinator Garden”. Topics include what’s enough fall clean-up, when to cut back on watering and fertilizing, saving annual seeds and pruning and dividing perennials.

Anne-Marie Walker is a lifelong gardener and longtime UC Marin Master Gardener that has been certified by the University of California as a trainer for Sustainable Landscapes, has attended further training at the UC Arboretum and Public Garden at UC Davis, founded a UC award-winning program teaching third and fourth grade students about edible gardening and chaired a public garden maintained by UC Marin Master Gardeners. Student Rights and School Bullying Workshop

The presentation focuses on the many ways bullying presents itself, impacts students of various backgrounds, what students should do, and what laws protect them in public schools.

We are now offering one-on-one 3D printing consultations; reserve your appointment today! During your 20 minute session you will meet with a knowledgeable staff person or volunteer who can answer questions, demo the printers, show you some 3D modeling software and help you choose an item from Thingiverse that the library will print for you! Or, feel free to bring your own .stl file to be printed.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids

Start your winter break off right by giving back! While a card might seem simple, it can have a tremendous impact on a hospitalized child and their family.

We’ll provide all the supplies you need to make beautiful handmade cards, and we’ll send them to Cards for Hospitalized Kids to be distributed to hospitals around the country.

There will also be a button maker and supplies for you to make last minute gifts for friends and family who need a little bit of flair!

For youth in grades 5-12. No registration required; bring a friend!
