Zentangle with Romi Marks
Romi Marks will be providing online classes via Zoom every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Romi has an art studio degree from Sonoma State and has been practicing the visual arts since childhood. She is a Certified Zentangle
Teacher (CZT), educated by the creators of Zentangle, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Romi has been practicing and teaching Zentangle for many years, teaching at San Rafael Public Library since 2017.
Zentangle is a fun, relaxing and easy-to-learn art form that uses repetitive patterns to create beautiful images while improving focus and creativity. This new art form can be enjoyed by anyone, from beginners to professionals, providing artistic satisfaction and personal well being.
In this class you will delve in to the Zentanglemethod while creating a beautiful composition. Learn to draw patterns and use shading and color techniques to bring this Zentangle inspired composition to life. There will be a short guided meditation and lots of step by step instructions. This class is two hours so please plan accordingly. Join the call a few of minutes early so we can all begin on time. As space is limited, be respectful of the library and your fellow students by attending the class you have signed up for. If you sign up show up.
Please register here for the next class.
For beginners, you can pick up a starter kit at the San Rafael Library (1100 E Street). They are $5.00 (cash or check made out to Romi Marks) and contain 3 – 4.5 x 4.5 tiles and one Pigma pen.
In addition to the starter kit, you will need to provide your own colored pencils. Romi recommends purchasing one of these sets online or from your local art store:
Prisma colored pencils, or
Staedtler colored pencils
If you think you’ll be attending many more classes stock up on these supplies online or from your local art store:
