The California Film Institute and the San Rafael Public Library Present: The Lake Merritt Monster, a Film Screening and Discussion.

Tweens and teens! Please join local filmmaker Benjamin Mulholland for a screening of and discussion about his 2025 short film, The Lake Merritt Monster, facilitated by Diana Sánchez Maciel from the California Film Institute.
Ben is an award-winning Oakland based writer and director, who has been turning small budgets into engaging motion pictures; most notably, The Lake Merritt Monster and the M.O.A.B series of shorts. His projects have been selected and screened at Mill Valley Film Festival, Montreal Independent Film Festival, Black Harvest Film Festival, Cinequest and the Oakland International Film Festival. He has been an SFFILM resident, Berkeley Film Foundation grantee, Cine Qua Non Lab fellow, SAGINDIE Fellow at the Stowe Story Labs and placed twice as a Sundance 2nd round finalist.
