Stories and Nature Activities for the Whole Family!
We invite you and your family to join us at the park in front of the Pickleweed Library and Community Center! We’ll have storytime and nature and art activities.

Anita Gail Jones will discuss her award-winning debut novel, The Peach Seed, a sweeping story of love, resilience, and Black history in the South of Jones’ childhood. The talk will be followed by a Q&A and book-signing.

With Historian John William Templeton, subject matter expert on African-Americans in the West and creator of the California African-American Freedom Trail. He is the author of Road to Ratification: How 27 States Faced the Most Challenging Issue in American History and Citizenship for All: 150th anniversary of the 14th Amendment. He explains the real significance of the national and state holiday as a tribute to the role the U.S. Troops of African Descent who reunited the nation, freed Mexico and liberated France.

Join us for songs, rhymes, and stories at our weekly storytimes, followed by Stay & Play. Storytimes will be outside in the summer, weather permitting.

Drop-in to meet with a knowledgeable staff person and learn about 3D printing! If you have a project in mind, we can work with you to have it printed, or help you choose a file from a database of objects. Please note that there is a queue and wait-time for prints. Virtual Reality:
