All Things Apple! is an online class via Zoom.
If you are new to All Things Apple! and would like to get on the contact list for classes, please email Librarian, Javier Morales at:
javier.morales@cityofsanrafael.org
You will then receive an invitation from Beryn and instructions on how to join the class.

Pre-registration is a requisite for each class.
Invitations to register are sent out each THURSDAY morning for the following week’s class, and you must register for each class.

These class topics were put together based on input from students, and while some of these topics have been taught recently, there’s always something new to learn in each. The content of each topic description will be adhered to, but discussion is not limited to just what’s presented in this schedule as one thing often leads to another.

Doors for class will open 15 minutes prior to that class starting and we will start on time. When the class capacity of 100 participants is reached in the live Zoom room, those who get “locked out” will be able to view the class by live streaming it on YouTube. This is called the “Balcony Section.” Those who are registered to participate by half past the hour prior to class starting will receive an email with the link to the live stream. It will be sent out within 15 minutes of the class starting. If you’re viewing the class from the balcony, you will not be able to raise your hand to ask questions but can learn something new nonetheless.

At the end of each class participants can stay for a Q&A session about that or any other topic. Because many people leave at the formal end of class, those who are watching the class from the balcony section will be able to join the live after-class Q&A to have their questions answered. Simply go back to the original link you received to the join the Zoom class and use that to get in.

A recap video of each class will be available so you can review material on YouTube, and you can build your own library of them, but you must participate in that class to receive access to the recap video. Instructions for how to do this are given in the orientation email you received with your welcome packet as well as in the email for the live stream YouTube link sent out before each class starts.

The time shown for all classes is Pacific Time; please adjust accordingly for where you are.

AUTUMN, THE TIME TO PREPARE FOR WINTER

And here we are, the first days of autumn are upon us, which means the “prep for winter” chores as well. If you live in an apartment, you can ignore most of what’s on a homeowner’s list, things like clean the rain gutters, rake the leaves, check the furnace, and other appliances that will make winter more comfortable, etc. Time to put away the lightweight summer clothes and check that the sweaters and especially the slacks from last winter still fit. Still being fashionable takes a back seat to them fitting (pun intended). And with autumn comes another round of Apple software upgrades and new products, so we need to find time to include learning that in our autumn to-do list. So let’s start here…

TUESDAY, OCT 6th  – OS 27 – iPhone and Mac

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

By now I will have had an opportunity to get up to speed on the newest Operating System for all our Apple devices and be able to give you an overview about the biggest changes to the iPhone and Mac. And from this point forward, I will be using this version when I teach everything else that follows.

TUESDAY, OCT  13th  – ORGANIZING STUFF (that would be your Apple devices)

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

This topic never seems to get old and is requested by many of you whenever I ask “What do you want to learn?” So here we go again… Of course, I can teach it all day long, but I can’t do the actual work for you, just like I can’t organize the proverbial “junk” drawer in your kitchen!

TUESDAY, OCT 20th – iCLOUD & BACKING UP YOUR DEVICES

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Learn the difference between device storage and iCloud storage. Learn how to find backups, downloads, photos, files, and subscriptions. Learn how to manage storage in iCloud and in your devices.

TUESDAY, OCT 27th – The NOTES App

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

We can never spend too much time learning how to master this invaluable app.
