March 17 @ 2:00-3:30 – Together in a Sudden Strangeness edited by Alice Quinn, hosted by library staff member Margaret Stawowy
Come join librarian and poet Margaret Stawowy for a discussion of Together in a Sudden Strangeness: America’s Poets Respond to the Pandemic, edited by Alice Quinn. March 16th marks the second anniversary of shelter-in-place, and this book was created in the months immediately following that historic day. In the words of William Carlos Williams, “It is difficult to get the news from poems, yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.” For this particular book club , we request that you find a poem in the book that speaks to you, and if you wish, to share it with us in the group and tell us why it is meaningful.
For online programs, I have read and agree to the City of San Rafael’s online legal and privacy information.
